My Summer Spots in the City

So many places so little time...

If you're like me you probably travel a lot on the weekends in the Summer but since we can't have our NY social lives die down we just have to go out more during the week...And while there are so many amazing places to go in the city, especially when it gets warm out, there are almost TOO many that it's overwhelming.  To eliminate some of the decision making  I'm giving you I guide with some of my favorites and details so you can catch the right vibe you are looking for.  Keep in mind weather is applicable because these are the my favorite outdoor places!

Le Bain Rooftop- (Sceney place with the girls)
  • In my opinion Le Bain, (at the top of the standard) is the rooftop with the best views and best photo ops.  Also being located in the Meatpacking District it captures the energy and fun that runs through the streets.  That being said, it is trendier which means people will be dressed to the nines.  Another upside is since you're in the heart of meatpacking so there are so many fabulous options right around there!
Grand Banks-(Showing off to visitors)
  • AKA Frying Pan's hotter younger sister...Grand Banks is great to show off to visitors because drinking on a bar on a boat is for some reason way cooler than on land.  The line can get crazy and it is tight corners so I do not suggested it for large groups.  Advisory: only attend if you are looking to hang with the preppier New Yorkers (don't forget to wear your best pastels and seer-suckers!)
Refinery Rooftop (Date Night)
  • I guess I should put one date spot on the list....  Refinery is great because it's a bit smaller and quieter than most rooftops in the city.  It also has a killer view of the Empire State Building so if you are trying to impress..check!  If not, you're in midtown so it easy access to any line of transit to GTF back home :)
Freehold- (Daydrink Fun)
  • Fine, I'll admit it... Brooklyn has so many good outdoor day drinking options.  They are way more spacious than in Manhattan and also have better views of the skyline! Freehold will forever be my favorite even if it lacks the view.  The vibe here is West Coat all the way.  For those of you who have been to Santa Monica, this place gives major Bungalow vibes...not quite as cool I must say.but pretty damn close :)
Public Hotels- (New York Scene)
  • This roof is a scene.  Last year it was the place to be since it had just opened so this year it might draw a bit of a different crowd but still fun all around.  Since it is the hotel it has a few different spots you can relocate to if the weather is shakey but also since it's prime location  in the LES it is a convenient go to hang out spot.
Pier A (Best place for group)

  • Pier A is always such a great spot for a group of friends because it is easy to get a table or reserved area since it is so big.  Located right on the water at the tip of Manhattan it also makes for a great place to watch the sunset!  Would not come here for a night out but a good happy hour/day drink spot especially since the food options are on point.
City Vineyard (Best for after work drinks)
  • City Vineyard is a great outdoor space for when you want to sip rose downtown with some coworkers or friends.  Since it is right on the water you are also guaranteed to get a nice breeze!  It can be hard to get a table since it is first come first serve so try to get there early for happy hour!

I'm looking forward to revising this list as the season goes on with some of the new spots in town so please comment and let me know some of your favorites!!!
