Met Gala 2022

GILDED GLAMOUR the theme of the evening.. Maybe should be the theme of our daily lives?

All the glitz and glamour donned the red-carpet last night for the 2022 Met Gala which was a tribute to the MET exhibit, In America: An Anthology of Fashion

Designers were able to showcase their intricate details and decadence to the fullest extent.

While celebs brought the looks.. the only thing I think we could’ve seen more of was drama!  Unlike years past, there was less emphasis on show.  Although, Blake Livey handled that for everyone!  Transforming into a true lady liberty before our eyes ..her Versace gown transitioned from a pink and gold masterpiece to a gold and turquoise gown that was meant to reflect how the Statue of Liberty oxidizes from copper to teal.

A true New York fashion moment at its finest.  Another moment we waited the whole night for was the red-carpet debut of Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson.  Kim (our modern-day Marilyn) wore the infamous dress that Marilyn wore to John F Kennedy birthday party that she popped out of a cake at.  Another iconic moment for the history books.  The queen of the red carpet never disappoints.

It was a special night witnessing the old school Hollywood glamour but with a young and fresh take.  The flare and skin of today’s modern-day Hollywood still had a presence which kept the fashion event of the year still the TRENDY occasion that it needs to in order to keep the fashion industry and Hollywood progressing forward.

There is a reason Ana Wintour keeps the guest list so tight and that is to uphold and mold the image of fashion in America.

My favorite looks were out of the house of Versace and Moscino. The black and gold used in the gowns matched perfectly with the theme and the ladies that rocked these looks were todays pop culture it girls Meg the Stallion and Ariana Debois, Cardi B.  Jeremy Scott notoriously has the coolest table of the night.
